FOSSILS UK
Established in 1998, Fossils-uk.com is recognized as Britain’s premier online fossil shop, offering an extensive range of ethically sourced and hand-selected fossils. Byron Blessed, while pursuing his undergraduate degree in Geology at Cardiff University, initiated the website, marking it as the UK’s first online platform dedicated to fossil sales, predating platforms like Google and eBay.
He furthered his academic credentials with a master’s degree in Palaeobiology from Bristol University. Over the past 25 years, Fossils-uk.com has maintained a reputation for quality and authenticity, with many English fossils prepared in their on-site workshop. The company’s commitment to excellence is reflected in customer feedback, boasting an average rating of 4.95 from 97 reviews.
UK FOSSILS
UK Fossils is the largest and longest-running online fossil network in the UK, offering over 400 fossil hunting guides, mini fossil hunting documentary videos on YouTube, community discussions, an online magazine and much more. Follow us on all social media for hints, tips and expert advice.
The UK Fossils Shop features over 5,000 unique British and worldwide fossils for sale, including an impressive selection of rare specimens across all fossil groups. We collect and prepare many of our own fossils in the heart of the Dorset Jurassic Coast, working localities such as Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Somerset. Our passion for fossils is reflected in our carefully curated collection, which includes some of the rarest and most unusual specimens available.

Airbnb
The Fossil Festival is proud to be supported by Airbnb through their ‘Best of British’ Fund programme. The “Best of British” Fund, launched by Airbnb in partnership with VisitBritain, is a £1 million funding initiative designed to support communities, cultural organisations and small businesses across the UK. The campaign aims to celebrate and promote distinctive British traditions, heritage and local experiences while boosting tourism and helping the hospitality sector recover from rising costs and economic pressures. Grants were available to projects that highlight areas such as nature and the outdoors, food and dining, music and arts and culture and heritage, encouraging visitors to explore lesser-known destinations and discover authentic local experiences beyond the usual tourist hotspots.
We are delighted to have been selected to receive a grant for the Fossil Festival in the culture and heritage section which will help secure and deliver the Festival’s vision in 2026 & 2027. Our thanks to Airbnb for their generous support of the Festival!
